Bridging the Atlantic
ASCE UK Section MRA Roadmap Webinar
The ASCE UK Section is proud to announce a comprehensive technical session focused on the Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) between the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) and the Engineering Council UK.
As engineering becomes increasingly global, the ability for professionals to practice across borders is no longer a luxury , rather, it is a necessity. This MRA represents a landmark shift in professional mobility, providing a streamlined pathway for U.S. Professional Engineers (PE) and UK Chartered Engineers (CEng) to gain reciprocal recognition of their credentials.
Why This Roadmap Matters Now
In 2026, the framework for transatlantic licensure has reached a pivotal level of maturity. With more U.S. State Boards adopting the MRA standards and the UK's Engineering Council refining the International Professional Engineer (IntPE) requirements, the "Global Bridge" for civil engineers is more accessible than ever.
Key Learning Objectives
Our upcoming webinar brings together the primary architects and successful navigators of this agreement to discuss:
- The NCEES Record: Understanding how to build a verified professional file that serves as your "passport" for U.S. licensure.
- Regulatory Standards: Insights from the Engineering Council and the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) on maintaining competence standards during the transition.
- The Pathways: Deciphering the specific requirements for UK engineers looking to enter the U.S. market.
- Case Studies from the Field: First-hand accounts from dually-qualified engineers who have successfully navigated the MRA to expand their professional reach.
Meet Our Distinguished Panel
We are honored to host an international panel of experts, including:
- Rossana D'Antonia , Fellow of ASCE , Speaking on - The Global Vision for the profession
- Marie Nebesky (NCEES): Providing the latest updates on U.S. state board participation.
- Andrew Cronin & Marta Cipolla (Engineering Council): Outlining the UK regulatory perspective.
